Do you awake in the morning only to find that you have to literally hobble out of bed because of intense heel pain. You feel and look like your grand parents for a while in that you have a shuffling walking style. Sure it subsides after about an hour once you start walking around in shoes but it still makes it presence felt for the rest of the day .  It sounds like you could have a Calcaneal Spur which is also known as a Heel Spur. The pain can be intense to the point that it stops you walking and doing the things you love to do.

The root cause of Heel Spurs is basically too much pronation or “rolling in” during the walking cycle and this needs to be controlled in order to render you pain free. Plastosan Arch Supports are a cost effective way to eliminate and or reduce your pain and discomfort. The Heel Spur will still be visible on X Rays but will be either asymptomatic after around seven weeks OR very much improved to the point that you no longer get the pain every day and the severity is considerably less. Once you start to respond by using Plastosan Arch Supports it generally goes all the way. The odd thing about heel spurs is that you can have a huge spur and have no pain and not even know you have one and yet a small calcaneal spur or heel spur can give an incredible amount of pain and make your life miserable.

As well as being a Naturopath with a Health Science degree I am also a Podiatrist with over twenty seven years experience in private practice. I have found that the extremely cost effective Plastosan Arch Supports are effective and have helped render thousands of patients pain free from heel spur pain over the years.

Plantar Fasciitis
Do you have painful arches? Does the pain feel like your arches are being stretched to the limit and is it getting worse? Do you feel like your life is literally on hold because you can no longer do the simple carefree things you used to do like going for a jog before or after work or simply walking around where ever it may be. Your friends may have noticed how down you are appearing lately. You may have seen your doctor or even a Podiatrist and been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis.

The plantar fascia is located on the sole of the foot. In simple laymans terms it originates from the heel bone and there is an inside band, middle band and an outside or lateral band of the plantar fascia which all insert into the forefoot metatarsals. One of the many functions of the plantar fascia is to hold the four muscle layers of the foot in place. It works just like the tensor fascia lata which is another fascia or fibrous band located on the outside of your thigh.

The root cause of Plantar Fasciitis is often uncontrolled abnormal pronation during the walking cycle. You see everybody pronates or “rolls in” when they walk. This is completely normal at heel strike and shortly afterwards. Pronation helps to unlock the bones of the foot which act as mobile ground adaptors to absorb shock as the heel hits the ground. The trouble is that when the foot leaves the ground the foot needs to be a rigid lever and if there is too much pronation then the plantar fascia starts to track sideways hence the tight painful stretch feeling which is really inflammation of the plantar fascia.

As well as being a Naturopath with a Health Science degree I am also a Podiatrist with over twenty seven years experience in private practice. I have found  Plastosan Arch Supports to be effective in alleviating and ultimately eliminating the pain felt with Plantar Fasciitis.
